Features and Benefits of TiN Coating:
Increased Surface Hardness – TiN coating has a surface hardness in excess of 80 Rockwell, which protects the cutting edge from abrasion and provides a protective shield against the damaging effects of heat generated at the cutting edge.
Increased Durability – TiN coating prolongs the sharpness and durability of a tool, allowing it to be run at substantially higher speeds and feeds without the usual problems of breakage and chipping.
High Lubricity – The lubricious finish of titanium nitride provides free chip flow, reduced heat buildup and chip welding, creating a superior work piece finish
Ability to be Resharpened – Since the TiN coating remains on the interface of the flutes right to the cutting edge, resharpened tools still outperform similar but uncoated HSS tools two to one.
